We heart Bad Girl Art!

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

Several months ago we were lucky enough to find the funnest, most unique items by Keithley Pierce.

Keithley sells her original artwork under the company name Bad Girl Art.

So, one day i was surfing the net,and i came across Keithley on facebook. Could it be? The Bob Seger of my world is in my reach?

YES!!

We facebooked her and she responded back!

We are now able to offer her original tiles, bookmarks, and little notebooks!

YEAH!!!

I'm glad I'm not judgemental, like those other losers!

Painting a Concrete Floor

Floor
As i have mentioned before,Decorating with Color I love to decorate with color! We are in development for our new retail accessories store The Bling Thing, and are in the process of setting up.

The first thing we decided is that we didn’t want to go with boring carpet. The floor was just concrete, and we had to decide between carpet, tile, linoleum, or paint. We decided to  paint the floor! Why not? If it doesn’t work out, we can always carpet, or do one of the othe applications. Paint is inexpensive, yet it adds something unique, and fun to the space!

Mr. Brooke Boutique designed this 4 color design, and painted it in stages. He sealed the whole thing with a lacquer. We think it came out spectacularly! What do you think? If it doesn’t end up holding up nicely, there is always builder beige carpet!

New Childrens Book by Local Author

dilly dally

Every now and again i run across a local business that is doing something fun and unique. When i come across these companies i enjoy giving them some support. This is the case with a cute new childrens book by  local author Michael D. Scott.

Michael is from this area and the illustrator of his book is Megan Wellman, and she is from Canton,Michigan.

The book King of Dilly Dally  is an adorable childrens book suitable in my opinion  for ages 2-10.It features the King of Procrasta who appears at first glance not to be concerned with the citizens of his kingdom. As the story proceeds we find that the King is actually concerned with his subjects, he is just very observant of other things, and a little distracted.

The story is written in rhyme, and easy to read.I really enjoyed it.

If you need a gift, or want to support a local author, go to this website http://michaeldscottbooks.com   and purchase this sweet book for $11.99 plus shipping. He accepts paypal, and is self publishing.
